Meeting of Minds

This process has been so long, for so many reasons. Distractions, Covid, family, work second guessing myself all have played a part in where I want to go and the things I wanted to do.

So searching for a model, muse who would understand how I work, what I want, was the first challenge. Don’t get me wrong there are some amazing models out there. I think I was cautious about who I let in, and would hold on to things (projects, ideals, ideas) way to tight.

Once I started to let go of somethings and take risks, opportunities opened not everything was going to work but at least I was doing something. The search was on, I always wanted to create with a person of colour who would represent me a POC but then I realised that my skin colour only had a small part to play and that if I wanted to create my work the person would have to understand more that just the journey I had travelled as a POC.

So after a few outings and test shoots with other models I met Kay - bondagegirl. What made bondagegirl special she just wanted to explore, but more than this she was a lot like me a planner, she worked to deadlines created solutions to problems and fixed them. From or first outing we had clear rules and boundaries of what we wanted to achieve and how we might achieve these goals. there was no ego, or expectation just the openness to create something different.
